MEDICAID NOT ACCEPTED
It is common for a person to feel nervous about dental work. Sedation dentistry can be used to effectively help patients manage pain and anxiety before and during dental treatment.
We understand that some patients may be fearful of pain during a dental procedure, or they may feel uncomfortable about the idea of having work done inside their mouth. Our team always takes great care to do whatever is necessary to keep our patients comfortable. This includes sedation options. Our goal when providing sedation is to make the experience easier and more comfortable for the patient.
We are proud to offer our patients the following options.
Local Anesthesia: Local anesthesia is used strictly for managing pain. Applied through injection, local anesthesia numbs the immediate area. It has no impact on a patient’s mental awareness so it does not directly reduce anxiety, but many patients take comfort in knowing that they won’t feel pain.
Oral Sedation: This type of sedation is a pill that is taken shortly before a dental treatment. It will help the patient feel calm and relaxed, and it helps to reduce feelings of anxiety.
It will also make the patient less aware of any pain that they might experience. The patient will likely remain aware of their surroundings while the medicine is in effect, and they should return to normal shortly after treatment.
Laughing Gas: Laughing gas is a type of sedation that works well for children and adults. It goes into effect very quickly. The sedation is given through a mask on the nose, and it is inhaled by the patient during treatment. Once it has taken effect, the patient should be free of feelings of anxiety or nervousness. They will be less concerned about pain. Laughing gas is extremely safe and wears off very quickly wear off once it is no longer being provided.
